I hope everyone had a great day today at the NDA Marathon! I am so sad that I could not be there. I was away at the Minnesota Kindergarten Association Conference in Owatonna. I LOVE LEARNING new ideas!! One of the MANY highlights of the 2 Day Conference was meeting Mr.Eric Litwin the author of the first 4 Pete the Cat books. He is an amazing & inspiring speaker! Mr. Eric was kind enough to sign 2 of our favorite books! The children were excited to hear that I would be meeting Eric Litwin while I was away- so I have to share this photo! I missed the the Kindergartners on Friday & look forward to being back on Monday!! Enjoy your weekend! Rain on the green grass. Rain on the tree. Rain on the flowers, but not on Me!! The children put on their thinking cap to think of all the things that get rained on in the springtime. We wrote about these things & made a fun rain puddle art project. You can see the art hanging in our hallway next time you are at school! Here is a preview of a few: Puddles of paint & a little bit of wind = splashing fun art! We brainstormed many different ways rainy days can be a blessing! April Showers Bring May Flowers!! Thank you God for the gift of rain!! Friends are also a wonderful blessing! Here is our Super Star of the Week: We know that rabbits do not hatch from an egg! But you do not have to hunt too hard to find the Easter Bunny hiding in the project we made at school on Thursday! We wish you a very HOPPY EASTER!! May you enjoy this very special day!! It was another big day for the children! We are all so proud of our friends who finally got their turns to have a special job at our school Mass! They worked hard practicing this week and did an outstanding job in all of the special tasks they had! (I took a few photos at our practice - and was able to snap a few in Mass today too!!) I am very proud of the children for their courage and reverence! It is very exciting for them to have this opportunity to participate in our Mass. These precious children have hearts of gold & seeing things through their eyes is a constant reminder to me to find the joy in the little things in life, because these things are often much bigger than we really realize!! We had the pleasure of meeting Alan Law the founder of 363 Days Program today. Mr. Law delivers an average of 1600 sandwiches a night to homeless people. Thanks to the donations from our NDA families we worked together today to make approximately 1,000 sandwiches for this important program. We prayed over them when we were finished & we will continue to keep Mr. Law and all the people he serves in our prayers. Mr. Law reminds us all to be greatful for the blessings we have & find ways to help others! "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!- Hosanna! Hosanna!!" Today we imagined we were there on the road to Jerusalem to welcome Jesus. The children put their hearts into these drawings! After finishing the project, one boy said "I am so proud of my work- I could just about cry!!" (I wish I had a picture of his proud face - it was beaming!!!) Of course our weekly post would not be complete without presenting our Wonderful Star of the Week! Have a great weekend- be on the lookout for signs of SPRING! They are everywhere!!! |
